Before starting hydrotherapy Cooper was barely walking because his hip dysplasia and arthritis were getting worse. Our poor boy was becoming depressed because he couldn’t do the things he loved doing anymore – such as chase a ball, play with the hose, go for walks or run around at the dog parks. All he could do was lay around due to being in
too much pain to walk. He struggled to go to the toilet, we had to carry him outside so he would go. He stopped drinking and eating and lost 5kg (which he needed to do anyway) but he was just not his happy playful self. We went to numerous vet appointments, put him on multiple medications including weekly injections in the back for his arthritis.
The only thing the medication seemed to be doing was minimising his pain for a short time. It was getting down to us having to make the hardest decision any animal lover with pets would have to make, we were so close to having to make the decision to put him down so he wasn’t in pain anymore. But we decided to try one last thing. I brought the idea to his vet about hydrotherapy and they assured us that it would help him a lot. I instantly got on Google and starting looking up places that did hydrotherapy for doggies. I was able to find a lovely lady who does hydrotherapy for dogs. Cooper has only had three appointments so far and OMG, the improvement in his mobility is outstanding.
His getting up to go to and from the toilet, his eating and drinking, his playing outside when people are in the pool. He even managed to walk
up and down a flight of stairs without any assistance at all. Cooper still has a very long way to go but just seeing the enjoyment for life come back to him has truly been amazing.

Huge thank you to Louise for her AMAZING work with my pooch, Willow. Willow had cruciate ligament surgery late last year, but thanks to all of Louise's work she's recovered amazingly!!
Highly recommend Louise to any pooch who is after some extra help with post surgery recovery, arthritis, hip problems, weight loss and even fitness! There is no way Willows muscle tone or recovery would be where it's at today without hydrotherapy!! And not to mention it’s been fantastic for her self confidence too!

I can't recommend Louise enough for the Hydrotherapy she does with my dog, Teddy. She is so thoughtful and passionate about what she does and you feel anything is possible to have her on your pet's healing team.
From the very first session she asked me what my goals were for Teddy and she didn't put a limit on his healing journey. For reference Teddy is a 6.5kg moodle who is 13 years of age who has a CCL injury from last year that I decided to manage conservative (non-surgery route).
We've been seeing Louise from K9 Hydrotherapy in Currumbin since December last year and I have had many neighbours comment on Teddy's progress with the leg injury. My goal was to get Teddy back on the beach running like he did pre-injury and at 9 months post injury and 6 months into they Hydrotherapy Teddy was running back on the beach again (with some restriction) and walking his pre-injured route.
Louise gave us the hope and the path forward to healing his injury. I couldn't be more happy and relieved with Teddy's progress and I know a lot of his healing was because of the hydrotherapy.
Louise also has dogs of her own and to say she 'get's it' is an understatement. She really understands your situation, and Teddy is my first pet and I've never had an aging dog before so having Louise's wisdom has been a god send.
